Child-friendly spaces open today in Dvor and Hrvatska Kostajnica for children from the flooded areas in Pounje. MORE THAN 2000 CHILDREN IN ŽUPANJSKA POSAVINA FORCED TO LEAVE THEIR HOMES

The school hall turned into an accommodation centre in Cerna, a village near Vinkovci, serves as a temporary home for 150 inhabitants of flooded villages who wish to remain there for the time being. Although accommodation was provided for most people affected by devastating floods in Županjska Posavina by families in the area of the Vukovar-Srijem County, the remaining 150 inhabitants refuse to leave the accommodation centre in Cerna, as they are hoping for a fast return to their homes.... According to the latest estimates over 15000 persons have been urgently evacuated following the heavy floods that hit the region of East Slavonia in Croatia. Following consultations with the Ministry of Social Policy and Youth, UNICEF Office in Croatia today delivered 4 tonnes of emergency supplies to the affected families in Vinkovci and Slavonski Brod....
