What we do
The task of UNICEF in Croatia is to ensure that each child gets the support it needs in order to reach its full potential. The goal of the five years’ partnership between the Government of the Republic of Croatia and UNICEF is to increase the quality of life for the most vulnerable children in Croatia.
The Convention on the Rights of the Child provides the best signpost for the realisation of the rights of each child, but in order to make our programmes more targeted and efficient we at UNICEF use data obtained from research.
Our Priorities for Children
Support to the most vulnerable young children, Baby Friendly Hospitals Initiative, early childhood education and care, early childhood intervention, intensive care of prematurely born babies and support to breastfeeding.
Helping children in emergencies, protection from violence, support to families, justice for children, Child Friendly Cities Initiatives, child rights and media, child rights and business.
With the support of donors, UNICEF Office for Croatia contributes to international humanitarian appeals for children.
UNICEF gathers evidence on the situation of children and women in Croatia. It uses this knowledge to inform national decision-making with the objective of improving children’s well-being.
